Pekoe Trails

We organize guided hiking tours along the Pekoe Trails, a distinguished network consisting of 22 hiking routes located within the central highlands of Sri Lanka. This extensive route spans 300 kilometers, stretching from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, and is segmented into 22 stages. The trails are noted for their lush tea plantations and scenic landscapes. Historically used by tea estate workers, these paths now provide a unique experience for individuals interested in nature, history, and outdoor adventure.

Each trail exhibits its own unique characteristics and caters to hikers of varying skill levels, ranging from novices to seasoned adventurers. Participants will encounter undulating green hills, waterfalls, and quaint villages while also visiting significant landmarks such as colonial-era tea factories and ancient temples.

The Pekoe Trails offer an opportunity to engage with Sri Lanka’s rich tea heritage, allowing hikers to traverse pathways once frequented by tea pluckers and to visit operational tea estates. Nature enthusiasts will find the diverse flora and fauna along the routes particularly appealing, with optimal hiking conditions occurring between December and March, as well as June and September.

Whether one opts to explore a single segment or to undertake the complete trail, the Pekoe Trails provide a memorable journey through the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Sri Lanka. This experience encourages individuals to embrace a more leisurely pace, fully appreciate their surroundings, and immerse themselves in the tranquility and adventure offered by this enchanting region.
